The all-new VW ID.7 sedan made its debut April 2023, and it already has us daydreaming! Not only does it have a striking design, it also offers remarkable levels of performance and numerous technologies… This stunning vehicle is an all-new electric model, part of the Volkswagen family!
Be among the first to get your hands on a Volkswagen ID.7 once it arrives in Canada!
This electric Volkswagen boasts a fastback type silhouette, large wheels, LED headlights and taillights and generous overall dimensions. In fact, it is almost 5,000 millimetres long and wheelbase is close to 3,000 millimeters; this means that the VW ID.7 is more imposing than the late Passat and it is largely inspired by the VW ID.Aero concept, which made its debut in 2022.

With a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs, the ID.7 offers a generous amount of space and comfort to all five passengers; the exact dimensions have yet to be revealed, which means that we will have to wait a few more months before we can get our hands on more detailed information. What we do know is that it will offer 532 liters of cargo space.
Once it hits the market, this all-new electric vehicle model in the VW family will offer solid performance levels. This is true not only in terms of power, but also in terms of energy efficiency and electric range as well.
The Volkswagen ID.7 will be equipped with an all-new electric powertrain offering a total of 282 horsepower and 402 lb-ft. maximum torque. It will be rear-wheel drive, although an all-wheel drive version might be made available later on, and also possibly one with a more powerful powertrain as well.
When it comes to electric range, it should play around 500 kilometers on the North American market (615 kilometers on the WLTP European cycle). In fact, only one battery of 77 kWh will be offered here, while other markets will also have access to a more powerful battery (86 kWh). According to the information we currently have access to, it will also be possible to use a quick charging station –for up to 170 kW.

When it comes to technologies, the all-new Volkswagen models have always managed to surprise us, and the ID.7 will be no different! Depending on selected options, you will enjoy head-up display with augmented reality, lit touchpads, a 15- inch touch screen, a panoramic sunroof with brightness setting, along with all-new seats with massage function, and an adaptive power air-conditioning system, that helps cool, heat and dry the seats.
Semi-automated safety features and park assist systems (regardless of if the driver is inside the vehicle or outside) could equip the ID.7, just like the Travel Assist system, which is a useful driving assistance system on board, helping you remain in your lane and providing support while changing lanes on the highway, when needed, in the case where there are several lanes and at a speed of 90 km/hr and over.

For the time being, the VW ID.7 is still not available in Canada, but it is expected as a 2025 model year. You should be able to reserve your own copy of this new model over the course of the next few months, although no official date has been released.
There is no official price range for the Volkswagen ID.7 either, although according to some sources, we should expect a base price of a little over $ 50,000 USD.
Once it arrives on the market, the VW ID.7 will be joining the already existing ID models, which include the different versions of the ID.4. However, the upcoming debut of the ID.Buzz electric bus and its arrival on the market over the course of the next few months, will also be adding to the ID family.
